COMPETITIVE

Legion FC Chicago’s competitive program is committed to developing players, and coaches in a positive soccer environment. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for players to play at the highest level possible with individual ability, potential and interest. To support this goal, Legion FC provides professional training and coaching at all age levels, along with different programs designed to maximize player potential, character and sportsmanship.

Competitive soccer is for highly motivated, committed players who want to experience the enjoyment and developmental benefits that come from training and competing with and against other-focused, achievement-oriented players. Teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development are cornerstones of our competitive program.

Our competitive program is for Boys and Girls U8 through U15. The teams will play in the Illinois Women’s Soccer League (IWSL) and the Young Sportsmen’s Soccer League (YSSL) or Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL). More information on fields and facilities can be found here.

Little Legions Academy

LITTLE LEGIONS
ACADEMY

Little Legions Academy is a high-energy soccer program for children 4-7 years old that focuses on basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting. Through fun games and positive reinforcement, children will begin to experience the joy of playing soccer and being active. We also highlight a positive character trait each session and game such as respect, teamwork and appreciation. Children will be introduced to competition in a developmental manner. Little Legions Academy offers two different programs.

Goalkeeping Trainings

GOALKEEPING
TRAININGS

Our teams at Legion FC Chicago are encouraged to ensure goalkeepers are a part of the game. We emphasize our goalkeepers to play with no fear and utilizing them as part of the game starting at the youngest ages. The program focuses on foot skills, which are as just as important as hand skills for the goalkeepers.

The Legion FC Goalkeeper program is designed and conducted by Coach Chris – former professional goalkeeper with more than 30 years experience. In 2017 he became a U.S. – National Champion with Levski Chicago . We strive to provide high quality goalkeeping training for all ages and levels.
Our goal is to develop goalkeepers focused on physical, psychological, tactical, technique and skills of goalkeeping; specific warm-up, footwork, handling, distribution, diving, shot-stopping, 1 v 1, decision making, dealing with crosses, and making the game-winning saves are included in the regularly scheduled GK training curriculum. Training sessions are structured so that they are fun and challenging for both novice and experienced goalkeepers.

Camps & Other Programs

CAMPS & OTHER
PROGRAMS

Camps provide a comprehensive learning opportunity for players of the game, guiding them through integral lessons such as player nutrition, ball control and stamina training. Camp participants are also provided with consistent and regular training, which improves soccer skills through effective repetition and direct coaching. Participants are divided into groups based on their age or sporting ability and camp sizes may vary from one coach to 15 students or one coach to 4 students for more personalized coaching arrangements. The quality of camps can significantly speed up soccer training or provide hours of fun and wonderful opportunities to socialize. All camps and programs run by our professional coaching staff.

Clinics, Private Trainings

CLINICS,
PRIVATE
TRAININGS

Legion FC provides private training for intermediate and advanced soccer players. In addition to the weekly club training experience, one-on-one coaching builds the confidence of young players on the pitch and improves their style of play. This is done by focusing on the strengths and paying acute attention to areas which can be improved upon.

There are times when a player might be nervous to ask certain things to his coach in a large team environment. A private training ensures that he can learn and play without any inhibitions. Our professional coaches have spent years training soccer players at the highest levels. They have thus developed their series of tested activities which will be applied on young players at private training. Contact Us to schedule your private training today!

Should I choose Private or Small Group?

Select between Private Lessons for one player only or Small Group Training for 2-4 Players. Not sure which one is for you? It really depends on what you want to work on. If you have very specific training goals then the Private Lessons are the way forward; if you’re looking for overall development but with more individual attention then select the Group Sessions that will work for you.

Private lessons allow the trainer to concentrate on the specific demands of the individual player. Within the Small Group training environment, all players must obviously focus on the same theme making it slightly less player specific than the Private Lessons. However, Small Group Training is still very beneficial in comparison to regular team training sessions and also more cost-effective than Private Lessons.

What can I work on?

Players have the option of receiving instruction in any of the following areas or designating their own specific areas of need. It should be noted that the more themes selected by the player, the less focused the training will be in each area. Typical training themes include: Shooting; Passing, Goal-keeping, Control, Ball Familiarization, Dribbling, Running with the Ball and Speed, Agility & Quickness.

In all cases, our trainers will complete a player profile to identify the current abilities of the player in a variety of disciplines. This can either be done by a game-day observation or by discussions between the player, parent and trainer. The profile is completed in order that we can tailor the sessions to meet the specific needs of the player and to review the progress made throughout the program.
